Meet Our Newest Instructor, Lauren!
Southern, Funny, Redhead, Spunky, and Motivated...
Those are the 5 adjectives Lauren uses to describe herself, and I couldn't agree more! I have only known Lauren for a few weeks and I feel like I have known her for much longer…if we added a sixth adjective it would definitely be friendly. Not only will Lauren make you sweat in a Power Ryde class, BUT she will make you want to work harder. She is so nice and so motivating, you want to pedal faster and add more tension to please her! So, before you come to one of Lauren's classes, we wanted you to get to know her!
About Lauren...
I moved to Cincinnati less than a month ago after living in Northeast Mississippi for my 24 years of life thus far. I have a B.S. and M.S. in Nutrition (both from Ole Miss-Hotty Toddy!). I love learning and seeing how the food we eat directly affects our bodies and lifestyles; it truly fascinates me! My passion for fitness comes right alongside with nutrition because I am a firm believer that total wellness of mind and body comes from a healthy combination of healthy eating and physical activity. I do love dark chocolate (everything in moderation, sometimes more ;) ). I will be a Registered Dietitian in less than a year, and am currently focusing my attention on enjoying and appreciating every moment that this beautiful life of mine has to offer!
Lauren taught on the RealRyder bikes in MS, so we asked her what she likes most about these state-of-the-art bikes...
What I love most about RealRyder bikes is the endless amount of possibilities. No two workouts are the same. RealRyder is not just about increasing cardiovascular health (as many stationary bikes are), but allows the body to be strengthened in every area. Legs, core, arms--you name it, and it can be challenged on a RealRyder bike.
What do you like most about teaching indoor cycling classes?
I've taught plenty of different types of classes, and I have definitely found that spinning is my favorite class to teach hands down. I'm not sure what exactly it is that I love so much, but I love that it totally aligns with my personality (upbeat and energetic). I have tons of fun while working up a sweat, and I get to share my passion with others at the same time. I also love the type of music that accompanies spinning. Allowing yourself to feel the beats of the music helps to push you to your limits, as well as to create new limits in every class.
When you are not ryding or teaching, what do you enjoy doing?
I love doing hot yoga and catching up on all the reading I didn't get to do during grad school. I love to cook, and I like to think I'm pretty good at it. I am also enjoying exploring a new city and finding all that Cincinnati has to offer!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
Up until a little over a month ago, I thought counting "1 Mississippi-2 Mississippi-3 Mississippi, etc" was based on the state you lived in since I'm from MS. :) (clarification-I thought people from OH counted "1 Ohio-2 Ohio") <---OMG I am laughing so hard as I read this!
