Who Brought the POWER in October (2019)?
Melissa and Abbey Kappes
If you didn't already know, now you do, we LOVE LOVE LOVE when mothers and daughters come ryde together! It is such a special bond and there is nothing better than sharing the experience of physical activity with your mom. ...But maybe I am biased because growing up I went to aerobics and kick-boxing classes with my mom, starting around the age of 10! I just loved the atmosphere and being able to workout with my mom! When we were thinking of who should be our next Students of the Month, this Mother-Daughter Duo immediately popped into our heads!
Melissa and Abbey have been ryding with us since February of 2018. I am SHOCKED because I thought for sure they had been ryding with us for much longer! They started coming as way for to cross-train and spend time together. Melissa has run some half-marathons and other races and Abbey is a state-winning volleyball player!
Melissa and Abbey almost ALWAYS come ryde together on Monday or Friday mornings, they ALWAYS sit next to each other, and they ALWAYS smile throughout class! These ladies work hard and have fun doing it; what else could you ask for? Keep reading to learn more about why they ryde, why they ryde together, and why they keep coming back week after week. Way to go ladies!
Do you remember your first ryde and how you felt after?
Abbey – Yes! Casey taught the class and she commented on how well I was shaking the bike and it inspired me to continue...I couldn’t sit down for a few days though!
Melissa – Super excited to try it, thrilled I survived the first class, and I felt so welcomed by everyone. I loved meeting Meg and Casey.
What has kept you coming back for more week after week?

Do you have a favorite moment that you remember at Power Ryde?
Abbey – The congrats I received with my volleyball state championship win. The support and words of encouragement were great and I felt like everyone at Power Ryde was proud of me too!
Melissa – When I felt like I could actually make it through an entire class and follow along with the instructors perfectly. When I think about my time at Power Ryde, I have loved seeing my improvements with the classes and I have loved meeting everyone who is a part of the Power Ryde community.
