Who Brought the POWER in September (2021)?
Terri Rutz
As Fall marathon season approaches, we are spotlighting one (of many) of our Power Ryding runners, Terri Rutz!
Terri started ryding with us in June of 2019. She is a distance runner who just so happens to run with our instructor, Nicole. Nicole encouraged Terri, and others in their run group, to come give Power Ryde a try. Nicole saw her running improve as she cross-trained at Power Ryde and she told her running group that the same would happen for them. Terri skeptically gave us a try and she kept coming back!!
Two years later with just under 200 classes completed, Terri is now a regular who sees the benefits that Power Ryde has for her running. Terri does our cycling and circuit classes and even participated in one of our 90-minute endurance rydes earlier this year. Keep reading below to see why Terri comes back multiple times each week!
What brought you to Power Ryde?
What brought me to Power Ryde was running with Nicole Phillips who taught at Power Ryde and invited our pace group to try her class. She claimed it would make us better runners; I was skeptical but she was RIGHT!
Do you remember your first ryde and how you felt after? What has kept you coming back for more week after week?
I do remember my first Power Ryde class. I was exhausted after 15 minutes. When it was over I said to others in the class that I run marathons yet almost died doing this class! I keep coming back because I love the workout and because it's making me a better runner!
Do you have a favorite moment that you remember at Power Ryde?
My favorite moment at Power Ryde was when my husband rode with me for his first time and came away impressed with my stamina and skill.
What is your favorite music to ryde to?
I like upbeat music that pumps me up!
Tell us a fun fact about your yourself.
I ran my first marathon when I was 53 years old! It's NEVER too late!
When you are not Power Ryding, what can we find you doing?
Running, working at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, or playing with my grandson!
